EOSOL innovates, invests, generates employment and is constantly growing. Among its 15 subsidiaries, the Murcia office, created to offer a closer service to customers in the south and east of Spain, is celebrating its first anniversary with a five-fold increase in staff.
Its Project Manager, Jose Manuel Lasso, gives a summary of the whole year.
Why EOSOL in Murcia?
The office of Murcia was created to provide a closer service to our clients in the south and east of Spain. There is a great talent of engineers in the region and, moreover, our director is from here. The office has been strengthened, in part, because the company’s values of “commitment, flexibility and speed” are deeply rooted.
What is a normal day like there?
We work in an orderly way but the dynamism of the work makes it difficult to establish a script. Basically, we deal with customer requests, answer phone calls, send and read e-mails… A priori, it seems a bit boring, but the reality is that, when you are immerse in the work, we don’t even have time for that. The satisfaction is enormous because you change in a moment the type of project in a matter of 10 minutes.
“We are present in the development of the large renewable energy projects that are being implemented in the region and we are working on projects to make the most of water consumption”, Jose Manuel Lasso.
How have you grown internally and externally?
In terms of new recruits, we have grown up from 5 to 22 in one year. The experience has been very satisfactory, I interpret it as a result of providing a good service to our clients, who are the ones who make us grow as a result of doing a good job. We are also very satisfied with our performance this year. We are present in the development of the large renewable energy projects that are being developed in the region and we are working on projects to make the most of water consumption. We are particularly excited about these projects due to the importance of this natural resource for Murcia.
What is the profile of your staff like?
It is a team that is aware of the importance of green energies nowadays. They work with great enthusiasm and a high degree of commitment. The age range is between 22 and 40 years old. The 85% of all of them, have higher education and postgraduate studies in different carreers. There are civil engineers, industrial engineers, electrical engineers and with postgraduate studies in renewable energies, BIM… We also have staff with higher education studies.
Some of your best projects?
If we have to highlight one, we could name a very ambitious project at regional level, that would be the IPIS of FV with a total of 67 Mw in order to offer green energy, due to the relevance it will have in our region. However, each project in which we participate is as if it were the first. In each one of them we face a different challenge.
Speaking of challenges, how have you faced covid?
We have been very lucky. We haven’t had any major cases. The team is very aware that it is our responsibility to take care of ourselves in order to take care of others. The company is also very conscious of facilitating the best working environment for its employees, which is why they were given the possibility of teleworking. This measure has possibly reduced possible contagions.
And to conclude, what are your short-term goals?
To continue growing and to be an engineering benchmark in the region, providing opportunities for the development of local talent.
